We’ve Got Bustles In Our Hedgerows
As the 2013 Ball draws near, we humbly offer the two following musical selections to help better get you in an appropriately period mood. Or inappropriately, as the case may be.
You might think that nothing could follow such a rousing and ribald ditty, but you’d be quite wrong. I submit for your approval “Bustle Fluffah”, an original tune composed by Andy Karl and performed by the cast and crew of NYC-based Roundabout Theatre Company’s musical production of “The Mystery of Edwin Drood”. (Performances of which are running until March — If you reside in the New York area, we strongly encourage you to patronize this talented, if somewhat dubiously couth, ensemble.)
And if all this ruffle shaking has stirred your… soul, then by all means do join us next week for The 2013 Edwardian World’s Faire and Edwardian Ball, where, in the words of one comely attendee, there shall be “epic bustle”.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
A tip of the top hat to Morgan Marquis-Boire and Melissa Watson for letting us know about these ridiculous gems.
Have a memorable story from the Ball? Share it with us, and you could win tickets to the Edwardian!
